The "Ponte dei Sospiri" or " Bridge of Sighs " is an enclosed limestone bridge in baroque style located next to the Doge's Palace in Venice, Italy. It was commissioned by the Doge Marino Grimani, whose family coat-of-arms can be seen in the centre of the facade.

The Ponte dei Sospiri was built in 1602 to connect Palazzo Ducale to the Prigioni Nuove, the new Venetian prisons. It was Marino Grimani, Doge of Venice at the time, who wanted it. The construction of the new prisons, by Antonio da Ponte, took place 20 years earlier, in a building opposite Palazzo Ducale.
